McGill University Faculty of Engineering is pleased to be offering the opportunity for a cohort of students to attend the multi-institutional, fully virtual, interactive team-based and intensive ‘Bootcamp’ program. Applications are welcome from all undergraduate and graduate students.

Thanks to the generous support of McGill University Faculty of Engineering, How to Change the World is offered at no cost to students.

This is an interdisciplinary and multi-institutional project-based bootcamp focused on positively impacting the complex sustainability challenges faced by communities around the world.

The bootcamp is delivered in a fully-virtual environment.

Time Commitment

This is an intensive, team-based experiential learning bootcamp. We ask all participants to commit to full participation for the dates of the bootcamp to ensure the best experience for everyone. The bootcamp commitment is spread across the week, including both live synchronous workshops and asynchronous team work. This entails 3.5 hours of synchronous workshops along with 2+ hours of asynchronous work each day.

Applications are being reviewed on a rolling basis until Friday 24 February. Those who apply after all spots have been filled will be added to the waitlist.

What is How to Change the World?

During our weeklong, fully-virtual Bootcamps, students from across disciplines and higher education institutions work together in small teams and larger cohorts to collaboratively tackle a Challenge based on one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in either a local or international community. All our bootcamps are based on the highly acclaimed How to Change the World course at University College London (UCL), which runs annually for over 1000 students!
